Dr. Denise T. Miller, Principal
Suzette Burns, Assistant Principal

Hello and ¡Hola!
My name is Dr. Denise Miller and I am delighted to serve as the first principal of James B. Sanderlin Elementary School! Our doors opened for the first time in the 2003-04 school year, as one of three new schools built for the beginning of the Choice Plan in Pinellas County Schools. Our school's magnet is unique for Pinellas County as well as other area public schools.
As of Tuesday February 20th, 2007 Sanderlin become an Official Primary Years Programme (PYP) under the umbrella of the International Baccalaureate Organization. The Primary Years Programme (PYP) focuses on the development of the internationally-minded child, who cares about himself, the community and the world at large. PYP offers a framework that meets children's several needs: academic, social, physical, emotional and cultural.

At Sanderlin, we work together as a team, with common visions and goals. We celebrate every success along the way and follow continual improvement in each classroom. We share common values and traditions, as well as celebrate the richness of life through the variety of cultures and our connection to the world at large. Children are the focus of our conversations and decisions. We care about treating each other, our students and all stakeholders with kindness and respect. At Sanderlin, kids truly do come first! We look forward to the continued successes and celebrations of students and staff in this school! Please feel free to call or stop by at any time. Our student ambassadors are always excited to meet new friends!
